Congress is considering giving physicians a 1-2% bonus in Medicare payments in 2009-2010 if they do e-prescribing, and a 1% penalty if they don't switch to e-prescribing by 2011. What is your opinion on this?

.6/11/2008 11:46:00 AMcongress should butt out
.6/11/2008 11:53:00 AMAnother move to take over medical practice by idiots in Washington DC
.6/11/2008 12:41:00 PMStupid - where will they get the funds?
.6/11/2008 2:09:00 PMmore "punish and control the doctor" by govt
.6/11/2008 2:15:00 PMit may be reasonable, and might overcome some reluctance
.6/11/2008 3:15:00 PMIt will be impossible forall physicians to comply by 2011
.6/11/2008 5:14:00 PMCongress is filled with know-nothings and posers
.6/11/2008 7:16:00 PMI only agree if congress allows financial assistance for physicians' extra expenses involved in e-prescribing
.6/12/2008 12:58:00 AMAnother reason to drop out of Medicare: the law of unintended consequences. Too bad Congress can not repeal the law of unintended consequences.
.6/12/2008 4:37:00 AMThis is more pork for the computer programmers
.6/13/2008 8:48:00 AMNot sure
.6/14/2008 2:23:00 AMI will e-prescribe if mandated
.6/14/2008 7:11:00 PMIt is shortsighted - conceptually sound, but currently there are poor implementations of e-prescription systems
.6/23/2008 12:42:00 PMnot sure
.6/23/2008 12:47:00 PMphysicians should be adequately reimbursed for medical care not by nickel and dime tactics
.6/23/2008 1:01:00 PMDoesn't effect me.
.6/23/2008 1:04:00 PMCongress should stay out of the medical business
.6/23/2008 3:00:00 PMLet Congress pay for EMR
.6/24/2008 3:02:00 AMIt's not worth it.
.6/24/2008 7:54:00 AMWhy doesn't Congress just penalize doctors for being doctors. That seems the easiest thing to do. I think Congress should penalize doctors for e-prescribing and if they don't e-prescribe by 2011, Congress should then triple the penalty. That way Congress gets more $ for their own pork!!
.6/25/2008 2:28:00 AMdoesn't help if medicare is cut by more than that. Medicare just wants an excuse to reduce payments as they won't raise taxes to pay for it
