Some states are trying to pass laws that would prohibit any kind of payments or gifts from medical companies to physicians. Are you for or against such a law?
#Response DateOther (please specify)
.1/30/2008 2:12:00 PMit should be based on if the physician is providing a service
.1/30/2008 3:19:00 PMIf it is stopped universally I think that would be fair. Must iinclude lobbyists to politicians as well .
.1/30/2008 3:35:00 PMLimitations are good, but unrestricted grants for continuing education are an important part of our educational system.
.1/30/2008 3:54:00 PMNo gifts of any kind. Payment for service rendered is ok.
.1/30/2008 3:56:00 PMAs above, this would be the end of research funding and academic achievement
.1/30/2008 4:03:00 PMunclear
.1/30/2008 4:17:00 PMI'm for payment for lecturing ( I lecture now). I'm against expensive gifts.
.1/30/2008 4:26:00 PMit always depends: Counseling can help improve the medicines
.1/30/2008 6:02:00 PMA good idea, but I don't know the details
.1/30/2008 6:31:00 PMfor
.1/30/2008 7:50:00 PMMaybe it will come to that but I think people can decide for themselves. I'm tired of being micrmanged and over-regulated.
.1/30/2008 9:38:00 PMIf this extends to educational grants, then clearly against. Otherwise would be okay
.1/30/2008 10:37:00 PMI think it is overkill. Are these same legislators going to do the same regarding themselves and lobbyists?
.1/31/2008 2:49:00 AMIf they pass those laws for us then they should do the same for all other business, campaign contributions, etc.
.1/31/2008 5:55:00 PMagainst refers to low cash value items
.1/31/2008 6:10:00 PMAgainst gifts, but payments for medical educations and simmilar things is normal or mandatory as for every other work. Moral obligations (for medical indications) must be left to physicians alone.
.1/31/2008 9:20:00 PMExchange of ideas is still necessary and may require support for a forum of some kind
.1/31/2008 9:29:00 PMinclude consulting contracts, honoraria, trips, etc in the prohibition list
.1/31/2008 10:43:00 PMI think it depends very much on the nature of the gift
.2/1/2008 2:51:00 AMwith the carveat that physicians must be paid for their expert opinions and for their lectures etc
.2/1/2008 7:38:00 PMI'm neutral. I don't feel that a law needs to be passed, but that it becomes accepted practice to not do it.
.2/4/2008 9:31:00 AMi do not know
